Between the most typical cheeses produced in Carnia the most popular is the "Çuç" that can become more or less mature and is usually produced in alpine pastures (Malga) together with fresh or smoked ricotta. Ricotta is habitually grated on the "cjarsonses" and gnocchi, covered with fused butter. We also like to mention the "formadi frant", resulted of the mixture of different cheeses minced and then mixed with salt, pepper and milk and the “formadi salat” (salt cheese) delicious with red potatoes.
